| They do have a Japanese air about them. But they look more chinese or korean. Not Japanese. Yes, they're very cute (Kawaii!) But cute is one of the things that East Asia do well! They rock at designing cute mascots! Hello Kitty (Japanese), Koge-pan (Japanese), Pucca (Korean), Baditz Maru (Japanese), All examples of how well east asia do mascots! I think the new olympic mascots suit their country very well, and can be marketed to children!
