| Wow, this post is awesome. I just googled contacts +getting used to and found all these people with the SAME problem as me, it's amazing. I tried contacts several years ago, hard lenses, and really didn't get on well. The optician put them in for me with much difficulty as I kept blinking and flinching and then I had an hour to wander around town with them. My vision was blurry, my eyes sore. They were horrible. I got back, he took them out for me and even then I was flinching and feeling faint and sick. But now, I really want to try them again. And to be honest, it's because I'm almost 23, I'm pretty and glasses are the only thing that still somehow make me look about 12 so it's purely cosmetic and I'm not ashamed to admit it. People's tips on removal etc. seem excellent, I am going to try starting to test-touch my eye some and then take the plunge and make an appointment. I guess if you really want something enough, you'll pluck up the courage and DO it. But it's so hard, sigh. WHY oh WHY is the only thing I'm squeamish about ever, have to be eyes. Sob.
