| In a bifurcated society like China, the more the government talks about building a "harmonious society", the worse the situation gets. The same thing can be said about fighting corruption and raising citizen morality. The slogan of "Down with Confucius" in the May 4th Movement in 1919 actually marked the beginning of the end of Chinese traditional morality and civil society.
