| I recently got into a conversation about this subject. I am of the mind that yes a private business does have the right to refuse service in certain instances. I got really extreme with myillustration: hypothetically I own a business, I have a daughter, she is raped, rapist gets off, do I have to serve him if he shows up? Do I have to serve his family that supports his claim of innocense? Granted, I know you cannot and should not discriminate based on race, sex, sexual orientation, and anything that violates civil liberties. But, if you offend me or treat my family like crap, do I have to serve you? I think not. |
