Carsten, you are definitely a visitor and it's showing. Local Shanghainese do not stroll through Nanjing Lu. Only visitors crowd that street. Locals prefer to stroll and hang out on Huaihai Lu. Shanghai has gotten bigger and there's Pedestrian Row of Nanjing Lu and Xujiahui district now, but the absolute center of Puxi Shanghai and the absolute city proper is still Huaihai Lu and LuWan district. |
