| i use a dell latitude d600 myself - its a great laptop but not very friendly to linux - why? its bios no longer supports APM yet in order to suspend to RAM in the recent kernels (including 2.6), you really need APM. ACPI never works, and i dont see it working in the next 5 years!!! If dell could give APM support in their BIOS, it would be really great for Linux users. Forget swsup in 2.6 kernel, it takes a serious coder to make it work :-(
