| It is kinda interesting and strange at the same time that Chinese people have this fixture to represent how mordern they are to the outside world, I'd say it's almost a hobby. Something to do with Mianzi maybe?
The Chinese have strong 'stereotype' image about everyone else as well. It's cultureally unavoidable. There is no need to take offence in stereotypying Chinese because in most of the cases (eg NutCracker) it was constructed from an art or performing point of the view. Nutcrackers was written 2 centries ago, to cast it in a way that reflects the development in the last 150 years or so would be ridiculous or requires major adaptation. |
