Conversation with IPowerWeb Support I have had the same problems with ipower web. I have been working with alot of hosting companies and they have not always been good to me, but IPOWER WEB SUCKS!! its by far the worst hosting company I ever worked with. this new integration to the " better improved vdeck" sucks!!! it is slower than ever.. If i want to access mysql it take over 20 min to load the page ( on a good day), and everytime I get on the support ( after waiting on hold for over 1 hour) all they say is that they have acknoldged the issue and their engineers are working on it.. 5 weeks later NOTHING HAS BEEN FIXED!!!! I don't know how they are still in business, I am not paying them anymore.. so if anyone is considering Ipower web DON'T DO IT!!! THEY SUCK!!! go with hostmonster.com or inmotionhosting whatever you do, do not go with ipower you will regrett it .. I promise!!!! ~D |

Friends Started to Boycott French Products Want to know something funny? the EU has asked the Chinese government to rein in the protest against French. For years, they're "encouraging" the Chinese government to give freedom of expression to the people. But when the government finally let the people to express their views, the EU wanted the government to stop them. Talking about double standard. |

Fight Between Foreigners and Local In 6 years I have seen this a lot of times, yeah. I have a story, but not about myself. My friend had a scooter and was eating noodels in a small place with his Chinese Girlfriend. Outside they saw a guy push his bike into the parking area violently. My friend's scooter was scratched then fell into the road. When my friend came out, he asked the guy to pay for the damages in a controlled way but they guy immediately started shouting and cursing. Straight away a crowd gathered who talked directly to his GF calling her 'traitor' and 'whore' - over a small incident involving a bike! The police came and handled it quite well. They saw it was small bike issue and took everyone to the local station to avoid the crowd. This is ignorant and willfully violent racism - it's present in most countries. Like Jianshuo points out, it is often fanned by narrow education or propaganda. |

May be Inaccessible for Several Hours ACCESS and availability of taxis at to two Shanghai metro stations; Jin'An Temple and Zhonshan Park On Thursday 22nd March 2007 I will be arriving at Pudong Airport about 16.00 and then go Maglev to Long Yang metro station. I will have with me a suitcase on wheels as well as a small back pack. I plan to go from Long Yang metro to either Jin'An Temple or Zhongshan Park station. These are my questions: [1] Do either of these metro stations have elevators or escalators? [2] Which of these two stations will it be easier to pick up a taxi from at at 17.30 on a Thursday evening? Regards Andy |

Using Contact Lenses OMG im so glad its not just me with difficulties!! Went to the opticians today for lenses and we tried so hard to get them in but i jus couldnt stop blinking, I was so determined but its not a case of this i realized its just instinctive to blink! So she said come back in 2 days and practice touching your eye. So I went home and was thinking what an idiot i am i cant even touch my eye without blinking! I found the best tip for getting used to not blinking! Right pull your bottom eyelid own and first just practice putting your finger basically just touching your eye but not fully just like kind of still on the edge of your eyelid and just onto the eye slightly. Then just leave your finger there and your eye kind of gets used to it, then try again and you might find what I found, your eye doesnt seem to be as sensitive (lol as if like it knows your not going to hurt it, lol just an analagy im not crazy!) and you dont blink as much, then just test how far ou can go, can you touch purely all your eye? Keep doing this then i think this is the trick! I feel i will east be able to do it on saturay now! my emails andyrowbotham@gmail.com (thats my msn aswell) in case anyone want some reassurance, im by no means an expert though seeing as i havent got my lenses yet! |

Using Contact Lenses Hi There, I Recently got contact Lenses, and the first time the Optition advised that she would put them in for me, so i knew what they felt like when they were in correctly. This was a little strage, but once they were in they were fine, i found after this had been done a couple of times my tolerance to being poked in the eye was increasing dramtically, and i was after a few mins of trying able to insert the lens myself. I found the technique my Optician advised me was useless, and i used my Right hand for putting the lenses in & removing the lenses from both eyes. (I Found using left hand for right eye, and right hand for right eye insanely hard as well as looking in a mirror) i found my own technique much better and easier. I have found over the last month that if my eyes are tired or i have only just woken up it is really hard to get the lenses in, so it is always a good idead to give your eyes around half an hour to wake up, and then put your lenses in. I have found practise is making things easier, and the hardest part is sometimes keeping your eyelids pinned back so that your eyes dont close, which they do instinctively when they are poked! I am happy with my lenses, even theough they can be a little fiddly at times, and my advice would be to persevere, and keep trying and be patient, and try not t get frustrated if you cannot get them in, dont keep trying over and over, just leave it 5-10 mins, and try again, if you keep trying, you''ll make the skin around your eyes sore, which in turn makes it all the more difficult to get the lenses in due to the discomfort of the surrounding skin irritation from holding back the eyelids. I have also found that if im under pressure to get the lenses in, or im in a rush to go out, i can never get the lenses in, which is typical relaly, so the best bet is alwyas to put the lenses in when you have the time rather than rushing and trying to do it. It's been good reading everyones experiences, and i have learned things from a few of the posts i have read here. hope my own infomration and expreriences help eveyone |

Pressure is About Expectation It is up to yourself to decide whether you want much out of your marriage life or much out of your work. There are people who are at their best when they devote themselves to what they do. The cliche works again in this case: there must be a powerful man or woman behind these people. Someone has to make some sacrifice. Of course there are examples where two people are what we call power couple (like Zhang Guoli and Deng Jie). But for most of us who have a regular 9-to-5 job it is simply a dream. Damn it (excuse the French) I work from 8-to-5 sometimes. You got to make a plan as to who does what in the family. |

MagLev May Extend to Hangzhou I recently visited Shanghai and enjoyed the Maglev train twice (both directions). In my opinion, it is the smartest way of travelling from pudong airport to any hotel situated in Pudong area. It is fast, clean, not-crowded and efficient. And it's cheap and exciting too. I wish, they would extend it to city center somehow... -Andy- |

Life in New York is Tough for Me If you consider average weekly salary in manhattan is almost $1900 according to latest AM New York, not to mention OUTRAGEOUS bonus, a $20 meal is NOT very expensive. Cheap meals in chinatown just cost nothing. :-) |

Pudong Airport Maglev in Depth Hi, a friend and I are flying into Pudong on the 14th May. Will we be able to use the train to travel into the city using the MagLev? We arrive around 10am. Thanks |

MSN Messenger Spam Thanks very much for this incredible information. Ever since I upgraded to XP about 3 weeks ago, I've been bombarded with all kinds of these spam messages. Almost drove me insane. lol. But thanks to your instructions, as well as all the information you've provided in the reply thread, all is definitely good. It's cool that there are a few people out there who are willing to share this kind of information, and not expect anything in return. It's sad how people are charging $20-30 for anti-spam products, when the solutions are all too simple (and free). Thanks for pointing us in the right direction. You rock! |
