China Eastern Airlines My experience with China Eastern is the worst I never could imagine... I sat at corner of the boarding lobby and made some phone calls...for some reaason, I did not hear the boarding notice...so I missed the flight! I was told afterwards that they did broadcast some kind of reminds which I should be able to hear in the same small room... I was totally lost! The lesson I learnt is that I will avoid to take international flight with Chinese carriers! |

Cash on Delivery Still Preferred I use my creditcard all the time with Ctrip, it meets my needs at least for now. But with Dangdang, it will be easier to use COD since the online payment system works not very well. I do not use PayPal at all although I work for the Company... That is very interesting, isn't it? Online payment is not working well in China, the system is not stable and sophisticated enough and remember all the different pincode troubles me all the time. Why Ctirp works? - They are not using online banking, they acts as offline merchant as most of restraunt do, when you get the ticket, you sign the confirmation letter and that is it... Why internet bothers? |

Thinking in English or Chinese It happens not only between English and Chinese, but Shanghai dialect and Mandrin as well. I lived in Northern China for over decade when I was little and I spoke Shanghai dialect and Mandrin at that time. But if you ask me, I will say I think in Mandrin even after 15 years living in Shanghai. |

Do You Have a Calendar? One of my colleagues from US always says to me please sending me a meeting request...I say OK...I do need sth. helping me to remember some meetings but most of time, I don't even remember to check my calendar so I slip meetings quite often... |
