19 Thanks for your Comments

I can do a stop over in Shanghai in Dec and am wondering is it worth it and how long should I stay - am on my way to Bangkok? I have about 5 days available to me and wondered what I could see/do in that time.

Would it be worth getting an internal flight to Beijing or Hongkong? How much would this cost and how long does it take?

Any information you can give me will be much appreciated.

the storyline is very bad, I dont understant the heroine at all,she seems never make her mind solidly...the musical is okay, her sound is not too bad.

i would not buy the lens included in the package of EOS 300D. U can buy a good one to combine with the body.

15 Shanghai International Tennis Center

Hi jianshuo, i dialed the number you mentioned in the post. It seems that it's a wrong number. The right one should be +86-21-64155588

They say that they don't offer tennis class~ (?)

8 Using Contact Lenses

poor STeF must have the same feeling. He's always been a serious-looking STeF before mirror, facing his pair of contact lenses, just like facing a troup of enemy.

6 Continue to Seek for an Apartment

well IMHO, life style in Asia is quite different from that of the States. If you are a party young cool and love the nightlife, Pudong can really kill your mind. It's different when the place you want to go is just about walk distance, or it takes you 45 minutes' drivin'.

All the same in Paris. Some will prefer living in the "banlieu" to have a bigger house, a easier-found parking place, etc. they will choose to drive to everywhere, even to bear the terrible traffic jam of downtown paris. While others may prefer a smaller old apt in downtown. Walk several minutes to the Metro and use the public transport to visit every wonderful museums in the weekends. When you invite a friend to dinner, it won't take you so long to arrive on the "Latin District" near La Seine, and you just need to sit down and have a red wine in hand and enjoy the violin player standing nearby!

it depends.

5 Continue to Seek for an Apartment

really a too-expensive-to-be-true dream. It's like trying to buy an apartment on Champs-Elysee at Paris.

The district you circled really belongs to the highest class in Shanghai. It is what old shanghaineses used to call "Shang Zhi Jiao(up-corner)", while north east district of Pu Xi was called "Xia Zhi Jiao(down-corner)".

I have several friends who live in this district. They are either "Gao Gan Zi Di(descendants of high-ranked cadres in chinese communist administration hierarchy)", or artists, famous old people.

Anyway, good luck! You have very good taste, go ahead!

1 Shanghai Metro #5 (Xin Min Light Rail)

The No.5 Light Rail is not that helpful to SJTU students...It's still faraway from the station to the school gate, and for now its frequence is far from expected... only every 25 minutes.
It is said that SJTU was asked to pay a certain amount of money to have a subway stop just before the school gate, but our very beloved school leaders chose not to pay that money. Students still have nightmare rushing onto the school bus or dangerous xu min bus, while SJTU always talks about its "yi ren wei ben"...
