What you Miss in Shanghai? In next 50+ years: The taxi driver in Shanghai will not become as polite as the taxi driver in Tokyo. But I am not impressed with the service from the cab drivers in NYC or Brooklyn either. |

Shanghai Looks Similar to US, But... What is the average hourly rate of those who post/read on this topic thread? I only read severl lines of the first posting, and think: why people spend their time here, if you were not doing this during your working hour. This thread is getting very expensive. |

The City and Its Moral Boundary Well, it happens in Las Vegas too. I am pretty sure they don't have college degree (not a job requirement). |

Jet Lag Patterns Then it could be that a) the weather here makes you feel sleepy; or b) those meetings are tiring. |

Jet Lag Patterns I was on the same plane on Monday and saw you in the business section. I went to work right after getting off the plane and haven't feel any jet lag so far. You may want to try is to sleep as much as you can on the plane. To do so, you may want to do something fun the night before leaving Shanghai (so you don't sleep that night). |

Where to Buy Digital Cameras and Phones Do you think one day in Shanghai (or China) would have a place like the Electric Town - Akihabara. |

Typhoon Hit Shanghai Annick & Angela: Did he said: "For me, it is a pleasant experience ..." Please don't make this a kind of political issue. Talking about the weather don't have to be politically correct. And using this kind of instance to say something like: "you are far away from it" isn't positive and helpful. |

Spotlight from Top of Jin Mao It is good that everybody can express their opinion, but I thought it would be much better not to have the following in the post: "...but very few people in Shanghai have the chance to experience the amazing city - not so many people have the sensation of the beauty of the city and not so many people have spare time as visitors have for this city, or simply don't have enough money for it." It may leave the wrong impression to the world. Two years ago, when I was having dinner at Red Lobster in Rochester NY, a waitress that I talked to don't even think people in China has color TV. |

I Love Shanghai! I think the 2nd paragraph is somewhat overstated. |

Work Life Balance I have no idea how someone started one-child-policy topic here. Simple rule here is: don't sidetrack the thread. |

Is 10,000RMB/Month a Ridiculous Offer? The last post by Elmer Fudd is the best so far. You can't find anything negative in he post. He is truly providing someone advise based on real-life experience. Salary is always negotiable. Ridicule someone isn't nice. Am I right, host? |
