Flying to Beijing Again The reason is that is a business trip paid by company. So he is on full rate ticket. If you go on your own money, you can buy discounted tickets at 680 RMB. So it is not fair to compare the full rate price with those tickets of tour package. ( those tickets are from either bulk or renting of whole plane) |

Using Contact Lenses Suprised that you buy contact lense for swimming. I wear contact lenses, but I use Goggles With Optical Correction when I go swimming. Wearing contact lense is a matter of practice. After 10 years of using, I can wear with one hand and without mirror. SO you must practice. Anyway, I think a spare pair of Spectacles is important for you. The advantage of wearing contact lense is that my eyes are not be deformed as other short-sights who wear glasses. The drawback is that my eyes are easily red, in office, shopping... :( |

If you ever watch the movie "under the Tuscan sun", you may have this picture. History means old. In Rome and Paris, the hostels were so old and so scaring in the night. I don't mind to soak a few days in the old house. Indeed I like a decent, new house. Meanwhile I can go to visit the history once in a while. |

First Class On MU5106 I had the same upgrading to first class too. That was a great feeling. I guess the God pampper you to have a good shape when you run back to your wife. But quit from a light and get compensation! No way!, because one day difference is more than the value they can pay me. two weeks ago, I was flying to Egypt to join a local 10-day tour, the airplane was delayed for 7 hours and redirected to another city for transit. I knew there was 24 hours delay in total, and I would miss my first day program---Pyramids. Can you image my disappointness and sadness? Since I had no choice, I had to board on the plane! But I managed to catch a last minute flight to cario when I arrived first trasfer airport and saved my visit to Pyramids. |

Watch Out Bad Taxi Drivers in Beijing The title of this might hurt Beijing people ( I am not Beijingness). It is like the feeling when you hear "Bad Taxi Drivers in China". Of course I noticed you wrote about Shanghai driver too. My view is that it is a common sense that people are good and bad every where. You might got cheated when you take a taxi in a foreign city. Ask for an estimation before you go, if you are over charged, (Provided it is safe) you argue with the driver when you arrive the place, or tell him that you complain to the company. If it is not safe( in the night, nobody around), you better pay the money and go. Anyway, safety is the main thing when you travel. |
