Finally Get into Buck's Restaurant Wang Jian Shuo, I feel as you do when I just have a salad. One way to make your stomach warm is to have a soup with the salad, so that it's still healthy but not cold. |

Interesting Comments on the Ceremony Yes, it was strangely deserted yesterday in Beijing. Traffic was the best it has ever been. It seemed like most people either headed over to the official Olympic screenings quite early or stayed at home. |

Attended FT Charity Dinner Well.I don't think fashion means only luxury. It's a form of art. It depends on your attitude. Common people can also be fashionable. That can be seen everywhere in our life, esp. in cities like Shanghai. Don't get yourself blocked off from it. Remember, you can be fashionable too. :-) |

I Draw my Own t-Shirt In Shanghai there are this kind of shops where T-shirts with hand drawing are available. Even you can do it yourself, too. I think it started much earlier in Lijiang. One of the interesting form of art in life! Fashionable also. Cool! |

Thinking in English or Chinese "thought processes changed with ones surroundings." I agree with it. Also it's a problem for me. "when I am talking in Chinese, some English word keeps popping up to my mind", it happened to me too. I feel it's hard to find a word in Chinese as a replacement. or should I say "It's hard to catch the right word in Chinese!" However, I understand it's because we think in English and Chinese usually at the same time in life nowadays. I believe it's a common experience for many of us living in big cities like Shanghai. Language is a tool of communication. |

Waiting for More Metro Lines more metro lines means more convenient traffic for common people..esp. those who dont hv a car or other traffic tools as a replacement. It's very important in Shanghai, the No.1 metropolis in China. Metro is more important than a car sometimes. :-) Since you've got a car, it's not that urgent for you. However, I do understand that a car can help a lot within short distance. Metro is necessary for longer commute. Look at Metro Line 1, it's so crowded to the extent that I worry more accidents will keep happening! |

What does Happiness Depend on Hey, guys! But don't forget about a group of people in the nook who's got better salary and a wealth of time to handle at will but still are NOT happy. What's wrong with that? I suppose that's the issue of "character of the city", which relates to J.S.Wang's another blog days ago --- My FAVORITE list about Shanghai. Do you think Ayi group will share your review? Can they afford the happiness catering for sort of metropolis anxiety? I 'complained' about the tardiness in Chengdu when I saw the huge scence of people sipping tea and playing Mah-jong in a public park for whole day. But I was warned to mind my words because what matters is the freaky fast pace in our city! Here I would just like to call your attention to the factor of environment. Though I reserve my right here on the topic of competition and progress, I think it is the modern city life that changed people's value of happiness. Ciao |
