18 From Pu Dong Airport to People's Park

Hello Jian Shuo,

We are going to take Jet Airways to Shanghai and trying to figure out how to go to Wuxi afterwards. The airplane arrives at 1:30am in the morning. But the first bus to Wuxi is at 11:20am. We will have luggages and kids so would like to minimize moving around but we hope to be able to get to Wuxi as early as possible. What would be your advise: wait at the airport until 11am for the bus? find a hotel? take a taxi to Wuxi? I heard Taxi does not hold much luggages and it may not be easy to find one going to Wuxi.

Thanks,
Jane

12 It is not Impossible, But Difficult

7 The Village I was Born

I was born in ZheCheng(not far from LUOYANG) and lived there for 7years and then moved to SHANGHAI together with my family. My dad served in the navy at that time.

I only went there one time when I graduated from middle school.
My gradpas and gradmas are all gone many years ago. So I never return the country.

Maybe my brains is not so good, I can't remember anything about past thing. What I can remember is recent. Several years ago is mistiness to me.

5 Relocating to Shanghai

Hi Jian Shuo,
I am proud of what shanghai has achieved and what this city can provide to people. But there is so much needs to be improved. There might be people prefer shanghai to Boston or Toronto. It's subjective.

Tibet has unique culture, tradition and magnificent landscape. I'm really impressed by your pictures of Tibet and Daocheng. I definitely want to visit those places when I can. Tkx.

4 Relocating to Shanghai

I returned to shanghai last week. I'm sorry to say this but it's aweful to live here. Living quality doesn't only mean what house you can live in and what material you can purchase.

Shanghai is not missing material but air quality, green land, place to relax, for leisure, and smile and basic courtesy.(drivers never stop for pedestrians) Why people has to be so loud and rude? Why most streets look filthy and people still spit and pee whenever and whereever they want?

I think Toronto, Boston and some of the European cities I used to live or visited are way better than shanghai.

2 Shanghai Hotel Guide

Hi Wang Jian Shuo,

I am going to visit Shanghai soon. I am also interested in exploring local job opportunities.

Could you please let me know, what are some of the best website to find Shanghai job postings? Exactly how Shanghai professionals find jobs? How foreign firms conduct recruiting in Shanghai? Do they
1)direct hire; or
2)Use headhunter; or
3)Go through China government employment agency?

Many thanks.
