Guide for Bike Riders in Shanghai Ni hao Jian Shuo- I want to add my thanks to the many others who have appreciated your words and photos. My family and I will be moving to Shanghai (Pudong) in August and we love to cycle (mountain biking, commuting, trips, etc.) It was great to see your photos of Pudong bike lanes and to hear about your rides. Since things seem to change so quickly in Shanghai, and in Pudong in particular, I'm interested in any new photos of your cycling adventures. We'll be living near the Pudong campus of Shanghai American School, so I'm especially curious what that area is like... Xie xie! Jon |

Getting U.S. Visa in China Yeah my dad complained about this too...... He had to go up and down the whole building three times (2 times to deposit his bag and handphone in his car; once to the CITIC Bank to pay the visa fee: yes they don't even accept CASH or credit card or cheque or anything --- you have to go to the bank and pay into their account!!) just to get to the security check. US is probably among the very few nations which require visa interview for ALL applicants, even business travellers. I got my UK student visa without interviewing, and they would even want to interview business travellers?? And then all the security checks and waiting... And they call their country the beacon of freedom... Which free nation would impose such restrictions on foreign entrants? |

Using Contact Lenses Just went to the eye doctor today. Tried for about a half hour putting them in but could not do it :( Going back on monday afternoon to try again. Reading the posts helped and i'm going to practice the next few days touching my eye lol ^_^ i was frustrated because i want to get them in, and having other people waiting and taking exams doesn't help much either :/ So i'll practice and hopefully i'll get them in monday. I've been weaing glasses since i was like 6 and i'm 19 so it'll be a nice change :) |

FIAT Siena 1.5 HL Pictures Hi, thanks for the pictures of the car! I was searching around looking for pictures of one, as it came up as a vehicle I could hire for my trip next month to Morocco. I hadn't seen one before, but your pics certainly helped out. I then ended up reading some of your other pages, including the taxi parking, and enjoyed them a lot! MovableType Successfully Installed on Windows XP Great info here. Very useful. I wanted to a add a note that it is possible to run movabletype with mysql on Windows as well - I a musing Windows 2000 with SP4. You can get mysql for Windows from the mysql.com website and if you install PHP as well (www.php.net) you can set up phpMyAdmin to make it easier to manage. Once that is set up and you have mysql running, you will need to run the following: ppm> install DBD-mysql so that you can use mysql with movable type. From there, you need to follow the movable type install guide to set it up to use mysql and you are set. |
