9 Maglev Extended Time

The running time may be extended, but they reduced the maximum speed to 'only' 300 km/h during these extended hours. No clue why. Also the train only runs every 15 minutes. If you take into account the time to walk to the train (quite far), buy a ticket (sometimes long lines) and if you have to wait for the train there is not that much time you will gain.

Recently I talked to a CEO of a foreign company who wanted to try the Maglev. So he sent the driver who was supposed to pick him up from the airport to the end station. It turns out that the driver arrived there before the CEO arrived! The station may be close to your house, so it is convenient for you. But I don't take the train anymore, it costs me more time and money to change to a taxi in Pudong.

7 International Events in Shanghai

I had a meeting in the Oriental Riverside Hotel this morning, and on the way there in a taxi I read your post. It was not until I arrived at the hotel that I realized that Ad:Tech was also hosted there. So after the meeting I took a quick look. It was indeed not successful: the entrance ticket was USD 495, but with a nice smile I managed to get a ticket for free! Inside there were not that many people, and the session I attended wasn't too interesting. So I walked around the exhibition area, picked up some promotion material and left. And by the way: there was no working wifi connection in the building (I found some networks, but none worked). Not very smart when you organize a tech conference.

5 KFC Dropped Potato Wedge in Shanghai

Yesterday I had a quick lunch at KFC and was surprised by the question whether I wanted salad or french fries. I think it is a good idea to implement this change, but noticed that many people still went for the french fries. It seems many Chinese have become quite Americanized, at least the ones who had lunch at Hong Kong Plaza on Huaihai Lu - mainly business people.

4 Dinner with Friends from Six Apart

Did not know that the name Six Apart was derived from their birthdays, always nice to know this kind of trivia. And are you going to start a company with them? Nice t-shirt by the way.

2 Fight Back for Golarger Spam

I hate pop ups as much as all of you. From what I have been reading, if you all don't already know, they are called messenger spam. Isn't it funny how you are hit with pop-ups advertising a product that will rid you of what they're hitting you with. Well upon searching I found instructions posted on the University of Auburn Website to stop the pop-ups. Listed on the site are about 4 steps telling you how to configure your user settings and stop these once and for all because it turns off your internal messenger service (don't worry it can be turned back on anytime as said on the website). Above all the steps are free. Just copy and paste the link below. Hope this helps someone.
