One Year to Beijing Olympics The Olympics will elevate China to a different level. At the same time, it'll divert international attention from many of China's issues, e.g. Tibet, human rights, etc. I believe that overall it's a good thing for Chinese people Want to volunteer for the Olympics? In China, His Pay is Hers to Spend? Update on its development in Shanghai when I watched a documentary program last week Increasingly, young couples have a trend of signing prenups before getting married. They'd go to the local government office to get their assets appraised This development follows Western countries, as Shanghai is catching up not only economically, but also in terms of divorce rates. Surprisingly, parents encourage their sons and daughters sign prenups before getting married, as a way to protect family assets In the future, we will se financial independence continue even after marriage |

Shanghainese Girl Marrying Foreigners I see so much anger in this thread. Part of it perhaps comes from observations that some - Chinese look down on its own people in favor of foreigners - Foreigners abuse their perceived "superiority" These things may happen less and less as China becomes richer and its people more confident. See the 2008 Olympics in Beijing |
