8 How We Can Help?

I just came to learn through my parents that HH The Dalai Lama has requested Tibetans to donate blood to Chinese people through Red Cross.
And 99.9% of Tibetans take to heart His advice and suggestions.

7 How We Can Help?

I am criticizing Chinese government and not Chinese people. There is a huge sky and earth difference between the two. Hope everyone realize that. Whether you believe it or not, my prayers are and will always be with Chinese people. They are same human beings as everyone else and deserve the right to be free in their country.

6 How We Can Help?

@ Da Long.

All the victims that we see are Chinese faces, and of not Tibetans. Perhaps Chinese government is hiding the pictures and faces of Tibetan victims. If that is the case, please let us know.
Many a times, the places that natural disaster hit say alot about its regime. Its time to review "mandate of heaven" on CCP. Chinese government now wants to "divide the sorrow" by asking its citizens to show generosity. I someday hope to see CCP return these generosity to its people by having Human Rights prevail, having people speak their mind and having a voice. When happiness is shared, happiness multiply.

My humble Buddhist prayers for all the innocent Chinese brothers and sisters. OM MANI PADME HUM. OM VAJRA SATTVA HUM. OM AH HUM BENZA GURU PEDMA SEYDEY HUM.

5 How We Can Help?

Tibetan Government further went on to hold prayers sessions for the thousands diseased, affected and the people who continue to suffer at this grave time in China.

Dalai Lama offers help to the Chinese
Times Online, UK[Sunday, May 18, 2008 10:05]
By Sara Hashash

THE Dalai Lama, Tibet’s spiritual leader, has made a gesture of goodwill to China by announcing that he wants to donate to the Chinese earthquake fund, despite Beijing’s denunciations of the “Dalai clique” and its description of him as “a demon”.

In an interview with The Sunday Times, he said he was worried that a gift to the victims would be misunderstood by China, which accuses him of helping to foment the riots that struck Tibet in March.

The Dalai Lama, who is due to meet Gordon Brown in London this week, adopted a conciliatory tone in his remarks on China, giving strong backing for the Olympics and expressing his desire to become a fully fledged Chinese citizen. “At the moment I am a refugee. But I would like to return to Tibet as a member of China’s Tibetan minority,” he said.

Although many of his supporters have called for a boycott of the Olympics, the Dalai Lama said he would have liked to attend them. “It is right that China should have been awarded them,” he said. “It has the world’s largest population and a great and ancient culture. In normal circumstances I would very much like to have gone to Beijing as a spectator.”

The Dalai Lama also showed a deep-rooted desire to return to Tibet and begin a new life as a monk in a monastery. Aged 72, he predicted that he would retire to a life of tranquillity by the time he was 80: “As soon as the situation does improve and I am able to return to Tibet, I will immediately renounce all legitimate authority.”

However, he made it clear that he could not go home before China granted Tibet access to the world’s media, medical aid from overseas, the release of all political prisoners and the exercise of human rights.

4 Four Types of Consciousness

I am not a big fan of labels. These lablels get people into trouble and some even suffer time in prisons because these labels worked against them with the change of leaders in the party. Patriots, traitors, communist, kuomintang, four olds, capitalist roader, liberal bourgeoisie, etc, do some of these nationalistic labels make any sense to you nowadays?

I know its sad and shocking to see a protester snatching away the torch from Jin Jing who is a handicapped. But the conscious Chinese need to ask themselves "Why?" Why did it happen? What led to it? What can we do about it?
The person who snatched the torch hasn't been identified so far. Some doubt if that person is even a Tibetan. The latest news is that Chinese have started threatening to this wrong person who is from USA and was at USA and not in France at that time. Some pictures captured traced the guy with Chinese supporters later on. Pictures can be deceptive sometimes. I wouldn't be surprised if this is a staged action planted by CCP to play with nationalistic sentiments.

All lives are important and precious. During the recent protest in Tibet, some Chinese were harassed by Tibetans and some innocent people got killed. But do you know how many thousands and thousands of Tibetans were murdered by the Mao Tsetung armies? How many Tibetans were killed by Chinese armies after the 1989 protest in Tibet?

I ask Chinese people to watch the movie "Dalai Lama- Renaissance". When asked by western scholars if they can strategically work towards boycotting Chinese goods in the west, he clearly stated that there is no need to boycott Chinese goods by westerners. He said, it will harm the poor Chinese workers depriving them of work and income. Whatever we do, should have "mutual benefit." He further commented "pressure the Chinese authorities, and not Chinese people If allowed in your country, please read the book " My Land and My People" by His Holiness The Dalai Lama, so you will know the Tibetan side of the story.

2 Error in Western Media Report about Tibet

Joyce, you have never been to Tibet yourself. Let Tibetans speak for themselves. Speak for Tibetans only when you understand and know about their situation.

My parents and ancestors are from Tibet. They are in exile now and they belong to Nomad family in the western Tibet. We don't have slaves or serfs as Chinese Communist Government Claims. China have emperors, slaves, concubines, terra cotta armies buried alive for the emperor, women foot binding, etc. Tibetans don't have such things at all. China is itself a backward country in 1940's, Japanese invasion of China brought and developed economic infrastructure into China.

All countries have visible and invisible economic and social boundaries such as upper class and middle class and poverty. So, please don't pretend not knowing the existence of such undesirable social and economic boundaries in your fantasy of perfect China. Perhaps in China, poor people working for rich are called "slave" but not in other countries. We know the CCP communist enjoy the most privileges than Hans. And CCP politburos are more upperclass than CCP members.

And you talk about developing Tibet. haha. Developing Tibet so that more Hans can move into Tibet and benefit. Don't forget that Chinese government extracted more than 40 billion dollars worth of Tibetan timbers destroying ecosystem in Eastern Tibet which we Tibetans call it AMDO) And definitely, paying 1 renminbi extra for purchasing food for minority college students doesn't count as favor or right. It's just one of those CCP policy to make it look like they care for minorities when 1 renminbi doesn't buy a meal but may be some candies for kids. And you guys think your government is doing favors with 1 renminbi.

You will hate to know this, but 99.9% (without any margin of error) of Tibetans love His Holiness The Dalai Lama.
We even love him more after China occupied Tibet. We love Dalai Lama because he takes care of Tibetans. He works hard for Tibetans. Dalai Lama has built hundreds of Tibetan schools in India and Nepal, While Chinese government is busy building more prisons in Tibet for Tibetans. As I write this mail, somewhere in the border between Tibet and Nepal, Tibetans are escaping from Chinese controlled Tibet. They escape so they can attend schools built by His Holiness and get good education as well as buddhist education.

I say back to you... "Go see Tibet yourself" Ask questions to them sincerely.

1 Grace Wang Called a Traitor

I am one of those Tibetans living in exile. Like many Tibetan youth in exile, I received good education from one of the Tibetan schools established by His Holiness The Dalai Lama. I received scholarship from exile government to study in India. However, I came to US to study and received numerous scholarships from the University.
I thoroughly read the book "Wild Swan" 3 Daughters of China by Jung Chang. I loved the book and also came to understand Chinese culture better. As much as I hate Mao Tsetung for his crimes against humanity, I also noted that he helped Chinese Women's Rights in certain way. I openly shared my ideas to other Tibetans about 1% of Mao's good deed for Chinese Women. No Tibetans labelled me a "traitor" and definitely, not any dead threats. Recently, while protesting against Chinese government, on our posters, I even wrote "Free Hu Jia" and "Free Falun Dafa".
Some Tibetans asked me who they were, and I explained to them that Hu Jia is a Chinese political prisoner and that Falun Dafa are victims of Chinese government as well. They showed nothing but sympathy and further encouraged me to write "Human Rights For All" on the poster.

So, I feel bad for Grace wang that she has to go through such ordeal. I think she is entitled to express her opinion. Besides, she was just trying to facilitate the two groups to get across each other to talk and discuss. On a bigger picture, wouldn't it be nice if Chinese government atleast once try listening to His Holiness The Dalai Lama without all those preconditions and sit across each other to talk?
