22 Lining Up for Metro?

It takes time, that is funny. I guess everything goes in cycles. There was a time in the distant past China was the world superpower. Europeans were considered "barbarians". China thought they were the most sophisticated people in the world so they decided to isolate themselves. I guess now the roles are reversed.

Unfortunately, in my opinion as a Chinese-American, I think there is too much traditions and culture in China for people to really evolve into a free-thinking society.

21 Broadband Internet Providers in Shanghai

Does anyone have updated information on ADSL/Cable prices in Shanghai? How about a run-through on how to set up an account with (for example) China Telecom? I would love to find this all out, as I will be moving in to a new apt (Newly renovated, with "ethernet wires hanging out of the wall + phone jack next to it" situation) next week.
Thanks in advance, and thanks to Wang JianShuo for the great resource!!

15 Kathleen's 5 Rooftop Restaurant

Kathleen's 5 is a great discovery. The open air balcony and glass walls give it an very open and airy feeling. I have been there several times and have enjoyed a nice meal.

14 How to Win Free Cross China Travel?

This sounds interesting. Is there anywhere we could read about her story and her purpose for traveling around China? It might be inspiring for others. Idea's for sponsorship may a good option if the word gets out.

13 Tea House vs Coffee Shop

I think Han-She would be a more modern-type tea house? I quite like that place! (No 10 Heng Shan Rd) (I believe it is a Taiwanese-style Tea house.)

The fresh fruit tea there is pretty nice (although they don't offer bottomless cups-you just get one pot) but it is served together with a complete meal and all for( approx.) no more than 55 rmb (for the whole set) The food is quite good! The only drawback is that there is no non-smoking section...so the air is not great.

12 Tea House vs Coffee Shop

A few good quotes about tea~~~

Tea es todo y tea es la vida!
Tea is everything and tea is life!
~Unknown

"The tea party is a spa for the soul. You leave your cares and work behind. Busy people forget their business. Your stress melts away, your senses awaken..."

Japanese Proverb:

"If man has no tea in him, he is incapable of understanding truth and beauty."

6 T.I.C Moments

TIC moment is not necessarily a negative moment. It is a moment where you realize distinctly you are in China and no other place. It can be a memory, smell, or visual to take back with you to ponder, throw away or remember. A memory you can not make anywhere else. You may even find yourself missing TIC moments when you leave...after all we do need a little variety in life.

4 T.I.C Moments

I love how Chinese say "hello" sometimes by asking if you have eaten lunch yet! I don't know if that happens in any other culture but I think this could be uniquely Chinese. I always have felt this was funny and interesting.

1 China Sent a Man to the Space

technology is all from russia, chinese personnels have been training in russian facility in star city for years... anyone with money and ambition will be able to send someone up...
does anyone think that the french, germans, and the british could not send a live human being up into space if they wanted to?
chinese should be very proud of the achievement but at the same time be humble and not make too much of this, unless they have landed on mars or pluto.
a humble nation will go a long way in the world arena, if u r good, the world will notice u...
