7 Mandarin or Shanghaiese?

shanghainese is not only interesting, but practical as well.
cuz, i found out that some pronunciation of the word is very similar to japanese or korean.
just like the pronunciation of the word "doctor" in shanghainese: "yi sang" in korean "er sang"
funny, huh?
and also, in shanghainese, there are many funny expressions.
"ze de ying" means show off.ha!
"gang du"means idiot!

4 Pudong Airport Maglev in Depth

Though the price is high. There always be many people who want to be the first one to taste the crab in shanghai.(hehe, chinEnglish)
When it first open to the public. the price of that entire month was all sold out immediately.
i think the price is not that worth.
the Beijing-shanghai Express Railway, the first of its kind in China, has been the focus of vehement competition among Japan, Germany, and France since it was first planned in 1994. Foreign investors hope the Beijing-shanghai line is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to future high-speed railways.
Just pay attention to the three country’s plan. German for its maglev system. Japan for its railway and don’t forget France’s TGV.
Though German’s maglev is very popular here and if the German win the bid, then the per-km cost of the maglev system is three times higher than railway system and only carry half the number of people and the ticket price is five times higher than the rail system. In addition, Germany doesn’t want to transfer its core technology, while the Chinese government hopes to gain the right of using the system in the future.
Anyway it is still too early to predict who will win the bid then.

3 Crime and Beggars in Shanghai

The problem of the beggars in the city has existed for a long time and it seems everywhere, especially in the downtown area. Last night, I saw two beggars bent down on their knees with a paper and some coins in front of them on Huai Hai road. It seems a model for most beggars. A paper with something writing on it and some coins and behind these is a pair of eyes thirst for something. What surprised me most was the two beggars kowtowing to the passers-by simultaneously and continuously. It seemed few people would stop by and gave some money. But I am sure there was someone would be GENEROUS. They were not fools. My opinion towards the beggars in the city is fully negative. I’m not ruthless. In fact, many beggars are too disabled to work. But many tricks have been exposed again and again. They are only too lazy to work. Some adults from the rural area even forced their kid to beg. Last time when I was around the oriental pearl tower. I saw two kids running towards me asking me to give the ice cream in my hand to them and even wanna grab my mostly consumed ice-cream. I really don’t know how to say. There must be somebody behind to control them. The kids are poor and the controllers are cursed. I think they really destroy the beautiful scene of such a city. Maybe u will be considered generous in front of your boy or girl friend if u toss some coins to them. Things will get worse and there will be more and more beggars or fake beggars on the road. It’s better to set up a social security system to help the disables live and lazy labor work.

2 Beijing 2008 Olympic Emblem Unvieled

The logo seems not so unexpected. The background color they chose, I think, is in the common sense. Cuz, in my view, red is best symbol color of china. In ancient china and even today, When people are in the joyous occasion to they like to express their mood by using red decoration. Such as couplet, lantern, candle and even the cover of a bride.
Ancient Chinese people usually use red to paint their door hoping for good luck. Take another look at the gate of Peking university and the tian’an men architecture and u will find out. Red symbolizes the good luck and prosperity in many many ways in China.
Red is CHINA RED.
