With SARS, All We Have is Time My university (ECNU) made a rule that all the students (including shanghai students) should stay in school the whole May. No one can go home. Whoever break the rule will be severely punished. The rule will become effective next Monday. All my classmates complained about the rule. We felt like prisoners in the jail. But in my opinion, although I hate the rule, hate to stay in the campus and live in the terrible dorm for a whole month, the rule is right and should be carry out. This is a special period of our city and our country. We should take severe measures before the SARS outbreak, even more severe than necessary. In order to prevent SARS, we should sacrifice some of our freedoms. Wish there will be no outbreak of SARS in Shanghai, wish all the people who visit this website will be healthy. I have to stay in the school and can not get online the whole month, so see you next month! |

China is Taking SARS Seriously I am so confused why the Shanghai Government did not ban the net bar in this severe situation. Some of my classmates still went to net bar these days and even playing pc games through the whole night! (This net bar have broken the law for many days, but no local government take care of it) . The air there is so terrible. If one SARS patient is there, all the people(about 200 persons) in the net bar will be infected!! And there are hundreds of net bars in shanghai! I think the government must take some severe measures and must carry them out! |

Daily Life - SARS Related Our teacher announced that the two suspected cases on our campus(ECNU)was now cleared. She said the two teacher did not catch SARS, they just caught flu. But some strict measures are now being taken on the campus. 1.Every dorms and buidings are disinfected every day. 2.Students or teachers who had been to other cities recently are now be quarantined. 3. From now on, everyone who plan to leave Shanghai must report to their teacher and will be quarantined after they come back. 4.Most of the student activities such as meetings,lectures are canceled.But we also doubt whether these measures will be efficacious. As for the first measure "disinfection", they just drop a little disinfector in the front of our dorm. How could these several drops protect us from SARS?! These measures just sound good......May god bless us..... |

Daily Life - SARS Related Your website is great! I am a student from East China Normal University.It is said that two teachers on my campus was caught SARS.I do not know whether it is true or not. But some buildings on my campus were taken disinfection this friday. And my friends who studied in Beijing said that the situation there is very severe even some students died on his campus. |
