29 Trusted Tourism Agency

Another way to visit China is to use Audio Walking tours.
I have tested those of Chinatrackers.com.

Very convenient because I don't like to travel as part of a group.
More their are of very high quality, and it is much more cheaper than to hire a tour guide !!!

24 Typhoon Not Hits Shanghai (Yet)

I'm in Ningbo and I also didn't see the sign of the typhoon.
Maybe the typhoon headed to the inland area instead of the coast.

20 Real Estate Price Keeps Crazy

That's insane. But the Chinese love to gamble with real estates, so, it's no surprise the prices have quadrupled since your time of purchase. Plus, Hong Kongers are probably another reason why there is the bubble. It will self correct eventually, look at HK. I'll just wait til then to get into the market.

18 How to Tell if Someone Block You on MSN Messenger

basically what everybody is asking for is a site in which they can put in their own email address and it would some how like.. work like msn or yahoo or wtv, but instead... it would just sign in and tell u like, who blocked u or who deleted u. i found a site like that almost 2 years ago, clearly regret not saving it. but this whole amiblocked.com thing is dumb, it'll just show if the person is online or offline. THIS IS FOR ALL THOSE PPL WHO THINK THEY KNOW IT ALL!!!!>>>> remember, ppl couldn't give 2 shits whether the person is online or offline. they want to know if they are blocked or deleted. they call it msn block checker but it only says wut they're status is. i did it on my self when i was signed in but set offline. same shit.

17 Hotel! Hotel! Hotel!

Wang Jian Shuo, thank u for your reply. so the guide information could be simplified as the local taxi fare system. The pudong govern. should put a post in the airport, saying:

where to find my hotel?
go ahead and turn left at the 1st cross, take the taxi, it will not cost u more than 30 USD.

then everything is done. besides, the post should be donated by the taxi co. since they could have more income.

16 Hotel! Hotel! Hotel!

Still i don't think the situation will be changed a lot even if the traveller has a guide map in hand. go to the hotel by metro / bus ? it seems not so realistic.

I used to tell my friend to take the ORANGE-colored / Green-colored Taxi in shanghai when i were asked such question....Hiahia.

15 Hotel! Hotel! Hotel!

Can this be a big problem to those foreigner traveller?

why they can not just simply find a TAXI, show the driver a card or a paper printed with the Hotel name, then sit back and wait?

14 ICBC - A Customer's Experience

sir/madam,

I have been informed as a winner of US$ 500,000 by ICBC. They have taken all my contact/address details etc. They said funds have been transferred to my account but till date no fund has been received. Its like cheating, you take all information needed and then you don't reply. Its very disheartening.

13 Old Shanghai vs Current Shanghai

Yes, time flies.

Without the pictures, I even cannot figure out what Xujiahui looked like 10 years ago. During that time, Both my wife and I are still in college. She was in Shanghai Normal University while I was in Fudan University. Every week, we have to cross nearly the whole city to have a date. We was used to take bus 43 along the Zhaojiabang road. Although the trip was long, the hearts were warm. To be honest, I was a little bit sentimental about the pictures you posted. Life was simple, quiet, of course not so affluent.

11 What does Happiness Depend on

Happiness is the exhilarated state of mind one finds while in the process of creating a life they deem worth living. For some, this is raising a child. Others, it's climbing the social or economic ladder. Some revel in the simple things of a garden - or helping another soul on his or her way in the world. It's different for everyone.

It's not a place you reach, or a certificate, or a title. It's the way you feel along the ride.

PS: Nice blog. First time here, but I must say it's enjoyed.
