11 Booking China Domestic Flight Outside China

I'm looking at booking an Air China domestic ticket from the US. The price using Air China's website (posted by ZZ, http://ca.travelsky.com/cab2c/index.do) is much cheaper than ctrip. I'm wondering if you can use a US-based VISA (I called Air China and they said no, although I'm not sure if that is more due to my poor Mandarin/their poor English) or even a DISCOVER card, owing to their partnership with China Union Pay (which would avoid the foreign transaction fees associated with VISA). Also, does anyone know how you get the ticket (i.e., are they e-tickets that just require a printout, or do you have to pick up a ticket at an office or ticket counter)?

8 Why I didn't Use Twitter.com Yet

Of course I agree with your statements, "We have to agree that not every tool is right for every person, right? We have to agree that if I don't use some service, it does not mean that this service is not useful, right?"

Each person has to decide what level of interaction they want with their community and what tools are best suited for this.

Right now tools like Twitter are in and of themselves only a "small" step. But I wonder if the increasing popularity of such tools represents a longer term trend towards a more interactive or social experience that might come to represent a "big" trend - given the ability to be increasingly social with a community not just physcially close to you but also one that might be spread around the globe.

1 Muzimei's Sex Blog Brought Trouble

I am a gweilo living in Shenzhen and only wish her blog was translated into English. She sounds like a brave, liberated woman who also is seeking publicity. This has been done before by women in the U.S., France and Great Britain, by the way. And it's only caused a minor stir in those countries. It seems to be a much bigger deal here. I wish her well.
