I Don't Know about China Visa Make a search on "visa" at the shanghaiexpat.com forums and you'll get plenty of information. Basically the easiest path is to go through some agents, they can get the visa done for you even if you don't have a valid reason to stay.(not studying, not working for a company) I read at the shanghaiexpat forums that there's a way you can get it done easily and cheaply: do it at hongkong. The last time I asked it was about RMB700-900 for a one year business visa, I didn't go for that option so I'm not sure if there are any other problems associated with that option. I got my visa done through emoo.net, and I believe a quick google will reveal a few more agents. |

Suggestions to Choose Hosting Company I am not a mainland Chinese but am currently staying in Shanghai. I have a non-commercial personal site hosted outside China, do I have to get the ICP? I'm guessing not, but they do have the right to ban my site? What about a commercial site hosted outside China? |

Blogging in Microsoft heya jian shuo, I am from Malaysia and am looking for a job in Shanghai soon. I currently maintain a blog at blogspot, but heard from my girlfriend in China that it can't be accessed in China. Are there any workarounds? (Apart from getting content via rss feeds) Do you think I should change to another blog service provider? If yes, are other services banned in China? (typepad, livejournal, etc) Thanks! |
