Luoyang, Henan Tour Hello, We plan to go to Luoyang in a couple weeks and will be flying into Luoyang at 210p. Is there time that day to do either Shaolin Temple or Longmen Caves as we only have the following day to do the other and I don't think we can do both on the same day. Once at the airport in Luoyang is it closer to Longmen or Shaolin or neither as we thought maybe we would hire a taxi and go to either spot right away. Any suggestions? Thanks! |

Shanghai Looks Similar to US, But... As a Chinese, I want to tell you Patrick, we have never thought that Shanghai looks like New York and we have never wanted to be called "New York" of China...Shanghai is just Shanghai. We don't want foreigners to think that it's just a rich and prosperous city, but we are all working very hard to improve our own life quality just like people in US, in Europe. The change happened in Shanghai is a sign of cilvilization which should be encouraged. Please don't judge everything in China with western value because this country is too much different from US or Europe. |

Where to Study Chinese, Beijing or Shanghai? Hi, I'm going to Shanghai next year (Feb-July 2007) to study mandarin and I got accepted to both Fudan and Jiao Tong. I did read through all these comments and it seems that there is conflicting views of whether Fudan or Jiao Tong is the better university. The one thing I did gather from the comments is that Jiao Tong has the better location. But I heard also that people tend to have a better student life at Fudan. Is this true? MSN Messenger Spam Thanks for the info. I'm having another problem with MSN pop-up. It pops up about every 5 minutes. It says "Sign in" at the top. The body says, "this way to the best of the internet (part of MSN network). It tells me to type my name and password After deleting, and "x" ing, and cancelling repeatedly, I finally entered the information and pressed "ok". The stupid thing continues to pop up every 5 minutes. It does not show up on "pow", and I can't find it in my temp files. HELP! I'm ready to attack it with a hammer! |
