Why I Don't Have an English Name Hi! A lot of posts on this site mention African names. Here in South Africa, people have developed quite an interesting workaround: many people are christened with both an African name, and an English or Afrikaans name. The result of this is that you might come across "Mmabatho Mary Madlala" or "Nduduzo Johannes Nkosi", and you would address them by whatever name rolls off your tongue most easily... |
